Rebel Wilson Has Had Enough of Plus-Size Clothes Looking Like Stuff "Your Auntie Would Wear to a Wedding"

Rebel Wilson announced plans for her first fashion line back in May, a capsule collection in partnership with
Torrid that Rebel said at the time was all about "making plus size fashion relevant and dope." Rebel's designs will debut in stores and online Nov. 1, and she attended a launch party for the collection last night (pictured above with a few of her looks, and there are sparkles, so that's nice). "REBEL" features prominently as, you know, both her name and a slogan for some graphic tees on display.

Rebel also spoke with spoke with People magazine magazine about the line, explaining again that, to her, "a lot of plus-size clothing didn't seem cool or on-trend. It was kind of like what your auntie would wear to a wedding." So she's designed clothes that suit her — everything from "urban" pieces to preppy looks, red carpet glam to comfortable sweats. Yes to the sweats; two looks previewed in People also include more graphic tees, glittery sweaters, and some glam-looking biker-style pants. "I just was always the kind of person who cared what was on the inside ... it's not really about my personal aesthetic," she continued. "But then I realized that if girls can see me standing next to really skinny actresses holding my own and being really confident in how I look, then that's a good message."
